Prayer is the strength

One thing that caught the attention of us all, in the case of treatment of Raul Teixeira has been treated in the United States, is the rapid evolution of his recovery. According to information posted on the website of the Fraternity Spiritist Society - http://www.sef.org.br/ - we have played in our magazine, doctors who assist him are impressed with the speed of the process, a fact that have never seen in 30 years of work with stroke patients and that they themselves attach that, not only the will of our esteemed colleague, but also the faith and prayers of all that since the admission of Raul, have prayed for his recovery.

The effects of faith and prayer are not, today, nothing new, as in many academic studies have proven the beneficial effects that prayer produces.

Let’s recall, however, that this idea was not awkward to Dr. Alexis Carrel, winner of the Nobel Prize in Medicine for his work in suturing blood vessels and author of "The Man, This Unknown", the most popular work in 1935.

In an article published in the magazine Selections in February 1942, Dr. Carrel is true apology of prayer, beginning with its title: "Prayer is strength."

It should be noted the article date: February 1942, ie, a time when, in the medical field, was an absolute novelty to admit the effects of prayer on health.

Dr. Carrel wrote: "Prayer is a force as real as terrestrial gravity. In my character of a physician, I have seen sick people who, after trying, without success, the other therapeutic means, managed to free himself from melancholy and illness, through the serene effort of prayer."

He further says: “When we pray, we connect ourselves, we ourselves, the inexhaustible motive force that drives the universe. We ask that a portion of this force is applied in due proportion to our needs. With the very act of asking, our human shortcomings are met, we rise strengthened and restored.”

The outstanding scientist was not limited, however, the effects of prayer on the body, as pointed out in that article its effects on the soul and society as a whole, as the reader can gauge the views of these words: "Today more than ever, prayer is an unavoidable necessity in the lives of individuals and peoples. The lack of intensity in the religious sentiment eventually brought the world to the verge of ruin. The deepest source of power and perfection, which lies within our reach, has been miserably abandoned".

Register in February 1942 that the richer nations of Europe and America itself, where Dr. Carrel lived, were once again embroiled in a conflict that became known as the Second World War.

Register in February 1942 that the richer nations of Europe and America itself, where Dr. Carrel lived, were once again embroiled in a conflict that became known as the Second World War.

For the spiritists, of course, none of this is new, but reminds us of a recommendation of a dear friend told his daughter he left for a distant land, "Daughter, every time you are in trouble or when the disease knocking on your door, do not forget the spirit resources: prayer, the pass, the fluidic water. "

As we know, and has been disclosed herein, Raul Teixeira - that is beyond the prayers he does and receives - has received passes every day. No question, therefore, surprising the speed of his recovery, which we hope will be complete and allow it in a short time, resume the important work that comes with mastery running in many different places in the world in which we live.
